As part of Trinity’s 150th Anniversary celebration, we have set a goal of raising $15,000 in special gifts and at least 150 hours of service toward two long-time ministry partners – Habitat for Humanity of North Central Iowa and ELCA World Hunger.
Gifts will help sponsor Habitat’s 2021 house construction build in Mason City and purchase tools (generators, air compressors, nail guns) for future builds. Volunteers are needed to help on the job site, in the ReStore, to provide food for job site volunteers, and to pray for the project. Look for more information on this project and how to get involved later this summer.
Anniversary Gifts to ELCA World Hunger will support the People’s Health Education project in Chile (Educación Popular En Salud or EPES). Chile ranks eighth in the world in number of COVID-19 deaths per million population. The EPES program is supporting the poor and marginalized in Chile through soup kitchens, food boxes, migrant assistance, pastoral care support, and women’s leadership training.
