Marty was hired for a temporary position in May 2000 to write Sunday School curriculum for Trinity. Many years later, her position has grown to Director of Christian Education, overseeing both children and adult programs, as well as maintaining the church libraries and keeping current with Trinity technology needs. She also taught for 17 years in the NIACC business division and three years at Kaplan, teaching English and composition.

Marty was born and raised in the Chicago area, started her education at Grand View College, and received her B.A. in Journalism at Iowa State University.

Marty and her husband Fred have been active at Trinity since joining the church in 1976. They have two children – Kate and David
