Thanks Be to God!
It’s been a remarkable couple months for our congregation.
The T150 Capital Appeal – a $4.6 million mission and building project begun in 2018 – is finished! The final $140,000 was raised in about two months. Four summers in a row we held matching gift challenges of $50,000 or more, and each time, you responded with extraordinary generosity. Not a dollar of general or mission offerings were used. And the spaces, technology and global missions the T150 provided have been transformative. Thanks be to God!
Our Summer Block Party was a wonderful event! The goal was to get out of our building and invite our immediate neighbors with personal invitations. About 175 people attended. The weather was perfect. We met dozens of new people – some of whom came back the next weekend. And the food! I had never seen a 40 ft potluck. Thanks be to God!
Fall Ministries are off to a fantastic start. Wednesday Night Alive has been lively and packed. Rally Sunday was a blast – the Ministry Fair, Sunday School kickoff, youth bible blessing, etc. Last Sunday, we welcomed new members. Our music ensembles are back. People are learning, growing, and sharing Christ’s love in our building and around the community. Thanks be to God!
Sometimes we just need to celebrate. We need to recognize, amid the very real challenges in our lives, that we are also blessed. It’s not about numbers. It’s about God’s grace and how Jesus frees us to be different. To seek joy in serving. To practice unity and compassion. To be healers, as we are being healed. To be grateful.
I am grateful for each of you and for this calling we share together. Thanks be to God!
