First Communion

At Trinity, we want families to be at the center of faith decisions for our youth.  When it comes to Communion, each family should decide when is the right time for their children to start receiving the sacrament. For some families, this is in early childhood. Other families prefer to wait until the children can take a class. Still, others wait until Confirmation.

Whatever your preference, the Education Committee and church staff recommend 4th grade as a good time to receive instruction on Communion. Our Communion class, Welcome to the Table, will be offered this year (check back soon for dates) for Grade 4 students accompanied by at least one parent. The class is designed for those youth who already take Communion as well as those who are preparing for their First Communion.  We also welcome older or younger students to participate who have not yet had Communion instruction or desire to have Communion instruction before 4th grade.
