Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
Key Speaker: Pastor Beverly Butler
Season: Time after Pentecost
Series: Conversations With God
Description:
Join us as we explore how God engages people through powerful moments of dialogue, decision, and divine direction. Each week, we will examine a different biblical character or moment where a conversation with God—spoken, implied, or lived out—shaped lives, communities, and futures.
This weekend we hear the story of Naaman, a Syrian general, who is healed of leprosy by the prophet, Elisha in Israel. The story highlights themes of humility, faith, and God’s power to heal, even across national and social boundaries. Naaman, initially expecting a grand display of power, is humbled by Elisha’s simple instructions to wash in the Jordan River. His subsequent healing and confession of faith in the God of Israel demonstrate the transformative power of God’s grace.
