Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost

We all carry a money story – experiences and beliefs that shape how we think and how we live. This October at Trinity, we’re exploring those stories through the lens of God’s story—a story of freedom, justice, and hope. Together, we’ll reflect, reimagine, and open ourselves to the transformation God longs to bring into our lives.

This weekend, scripture calls us to reimagine a world where our social and economic systems are not built to disparage or impoverish, but instead to provide for and benefit all. We will revisit the story of the widow’s mite. Instead of commending the widow’s giving practices, perhaps Jesus is condemning the economic system that created her poverty. If true, what might this mean for our own money stories?
