Youth Trip 2026 Fundraiser

Western States Youth Gathering

Trinity Lutheran Youth are leaving on a jet plane. But don’t worry, we know when they’ll be back again!

Thirteen Trinity youth and three adult leaders will be heading to Thousand Oaks, California at the end of June to experience what it means to be Lutheran west of the Mississippi. They’ll be joining a host of other Lutheran Youth at the Western States Gathering, which is held at California Lutheran University’s campus every three years. This is a smaller scale version of the ELCA Gathering, allowing students to spend more time in smaller groups, getting to know students from a variety of settings. For the Trinity youth, this serves as a little taste of what is to come in Minneapolis in 2027 at the ELCA Gathering in Minneapolis. Trinity youth will be able to experience what life in like on the West Coast, in a northern LA suburb for five days, before embarking to Anaheim before heading home. Students will be able to participate in worship services, meet with camp and campus ministry members from California and beyond who are staffing the event, be able to see what life would look like as a student at Cal Lu, complete a service project in support of victims of the California wildfires, including the hosting bishop, Brenda Bos, who lost her home in Alta Dena during the fires. Our stay at California Lutheran University includes programs, meals in the cafeteria, and housing in the dorms on campus.

There will also be beach. Of course.

We would love to have the congregation’s financial support in helping continue to make the Youth trip affordable for all Trinity Youth to attend. During the month of May, you will see an envelope wall displayed. Each envelope is marked 1-125. It is our greatest hope that you would consider donating the dollar amount featured on the outside of the envelope. Each is pre-marked for Trinity Youth, and can be returned to the office or in the offering plate. These envelopes help us to offset the costs of the trip to make it possible for all Trinity youth to be able to financially attend the trip.
