Lunch & Learn – The Hygiene Pantry
St. John’s Episcopal Church created a hygiene pantry about ten years ago to give the dignity of being clean to those in need of assistance with no questions asked. Those on limited incomes to cover food and medications often have nothing left over for hygiene products. Bags of supplies are assembled that generally include toothpaste, toothbrush, dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and toilet paper. Upon request, they also include feminine hygiene products, diapers, wipes, and children’s products. The Women’s Cabinet at Trinity Lutheran Church has partnered with St. John’s Episcopal Church by collecting donations that are then given to the Hygiene Pantry at St. John’s. Other donations come from area churches and private citizens who want to support the ministry. Our guest speaker is Sue Stone, Parish Administrator at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She will be sharing stories of the lives that have been touched by the hygiene pantry over the years. A light lunch of soup and sandwich will be provided by Trinity’s Women’s Cabinet for a free-will donation. Please call Trinity Church to get a head count for lunch 423-0536.
