If you missed the Refrigerator Pickle Party on August 22, you can still get in on the fun by making your own at home with the recipe below.

3-4 quarts of cucumbers
2-3 onions sliced
4 c. sugar
4 c. white vinegar
½ c. salt
1 ½ tsp. celery seed
1 ½ tsp. mustard seed
1 ½ tsp. turmeric

Slice cucumbers, add sliced onions. Put in a glass gallon jar or four-quart jars. Mix all other ingredients together in a saucepan and bring it to a boil on the stove. Pour over the cucumbers in the glass jar. Cover with lid and refrigerate. May start consuming in one week. They will keep in the refrigerator for one year.
