With over 300 High School students and leaders “bunked up” at St. Thomas University, our team of 15 from Trinity dove into a new experience meeting our ELCA neighbors from across the Midwest! They explored the Twin Cities daily and accompanied service ministries (like MN Adult and Teen Challenge and Rice Street Community Gardens). After a long few afternoons, our team helped lead worship, raced across campus in scavenger hunts, danced like champions in a silent disco, dove deep into devotions after hearing from some incredible speakers, and so much more! It was humbling to see our high schoolers removing loads of garbage from a community primarily supporting refugees! Before the garden cleanup, they had met with residents and staff from MN Teen Challenge and heard about the active role that faith plays in the recovery process from many who are struggling with addiction in this center. The love and prayers we sent to them looked like spending a few hours deep cleaning the facility and hearing their stories. Here is what some of the adventures looked like!
