Vacation Bible School Recap 2022

June 23, 2022 Youth By: Ashley Morrison

We were blessed to have five Riverside Bible Camp Counselors present Anchored in Hope 1 Peter 3:15. The day campers focused on 1 Peter 3:15: “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” There were 49-day campers, 14 preschoolers, and 15 youth and adult helpers at Trinity June 13-16.

The Day Camp service project for the week was to bring items for the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank. We collected 82 items to help with food insecurity in our area. Middle School youth had so much fun on Monday of camp week with a campfire and games with the counselors. Thanks to The Dettmers for hosting! High School youth were able to hang out with Counselors Wednesday night. It was awesome to have that one-on-one time with the counselors.

We are so thankful for all of our teachers and volunteers! A special thank you to The Dettmers and The Stines for providing housing and meals for the counselors. Trinity is blessed to be able to serve youth in this way and could not do it without our wonderful volunteers! And THANK YOU to Alyse Hesley for taking over for me and doing such a fantastic job!
